Fourth of July

The 4th has always been my favorite summer weekend.  We spend it at the lake every year.  Three years ago we got engaged on the 4th, two years ago I spend it pregnant at Put-in- Bay watching all the drunks pee in the pool at the Blue Marlin swim up bar and last year we took the boat out to the middle of Lake Erie in the dark and watched Put-in-Bay's firework display.  Such fun times!  This year was bittersweet, Ben's grandma passed away and although we did head to the lake we laid low for the most part.
Charlie loved his grandma Mimi, he went with Ben's parents once a week to visit her at the nursing home.  He really enjoyed visiting her and I know it was a highlight of her week to see him.  At the funeral he said "I love you, Mimi" and blew her a big kiss.  She will be missed.

Other than that our fourth was filled with good food, bay breezes (my new favorite summer time cocktail), bubbles and boating...

Lastly, this week marks one year of blogging :) 52 blog posts and over 53,000 blog views.  Thank you for following along with this virtual scrapbook for Charlie!  I'm having so much fun with this and I really hope Charlie will enjoy reading it one day.
