Fall fun

We are having so much fun this fall!  Charlie just loves being outside in this brisk weather playing in the leaves and mud!  We took him to a pumpkin patch in Hartville, OH this past weekend which was a total hit!  Hayrides, petting zoo, pumpkin picking, face painting, kiddie train rides, carnival food!, corn mazes, playground you name it they had it!  I'm already looking forward to going back next year!

This picture below cracks me up.  He had his finger up saying "Shhhhhhh, he's seeping."

You may have already seen on Instagram our balloon jack-o-lanterns!  If you want to keep a toddler entertained for more than 5 minutes at a time give them a couple helium filled balloons! It's high anxiety for mom but boat loads of fun for little dudes/dudettes.

Also, if you've been on the hunt for a good pumpkin pie smoothie look no further...
Check out the recipe instructions here and while you're there browse through all the other great meal ideas she posts!

Lastly, this was our first year we didn't carve pumpkins.  I opted to paint and glitter them up and I love how they turned out!!

Hope everyone has the happiest Halloween tomorrow!  I can't wait to share pictures of Charlie in his costume next week!!

22 Months

Month 22 was a fun month indeed!  Charlie is a little ball of energy who loves to run and play ALL day!  It's getting hard for his grandparents to get him to take naps during the day.  He just wants to go, go, go!

Charlie...
Loves to sing!  His favorite is the Itsy Bitsy Spider, hand motions and all!
Got his first hair cut
Wants to be outside all day
Counts in to the teens now!  He gets to 13 and then needs help sorting out the rest:)
Is obsessed with hide and seek.  I'll randomly hear "CAN'T FIND MEEEEE!" coming from another room.  That's my cue..." Charlieee, where are youuuuu?"  He is such a good hider, so still and quiet.
Knows all his colors, shapes and a lot of letters.  He is even good at drawing circles.

Here are some 21 and 22 month favorites...
1. Two Piece PJ's-  Now that the weather is getting cold we are back to the long two piece pj's.  These Gap lion striped ones are my favorite.

2.  Rain Boots-  The Dude is a mud puddle magnet so these are perfect for out door fun!

3.  Brown Bear Book-  We still read every day, I try to rotate all our books to keep him engaged.  He's in to Brown Bear Brown Bear what do you see right now.  Sometimes with this book he'll shush me then proceed to tell me his own version of the book. " Aww kitty!" or "Shew shew why dog!" {translation: Get away, white dog.} or "Mom! Look! Sheepie!!" when he comes to the black sheep:)

4.  Hard hat and gear-  Charlie's into hats, has been for awhile, but we recently pulled a hard hat out that he got last year at a birthday party and he loves it.  For awhile he wanted to wear it everywhere we went!  He likes dressing up with his hard hat, tool belt and tools.  He loves putting his Halloween costume on too!  The day we tried it on I couldn't get him to take it off, he stood in front of the mirror forever closely looking over every detail of the costume.  He couldn't believe he was looking at himself, it was so funny!  He even got a kick out of putting his costume from last year on and clucking around the house! Ha Ha

5. Lion figurines-  At this stage he is less into toys and more into using his imagination.  That's why I think he likes to dress up so much and why these little lions keep him occupied for long periods time.  He loves walking them around and making them roar at each other.

Month 22 has been a fun stage!  We love watching him grow, learn and play.  He truely is the highlight of our life!

1st Hair Cut

The amount of time I spent going back and forth on whether or not to cut the Dude's hair is embarrassing so I'm not even going to address it...Charlie got his first hair cut this past Tuesday! Yay, we did it!  We took him to the barbershop that Ben has been going to for many years and gave Dom, the owner, free rein on Charlie's cut.  I was prepared for tears, snots and screams but our experience was quite the opposite...

Charlie got up on dads lap, watched Winnie the Pooh on the iPhone and munched on a Dum Dum while Dom went to town.  He did a scissor cut but did use the loud clippers to shape it up at the end and even the clippers didn't bother him.

And when it was over he hopped down out of the chair, looked up at Dom and said "Thank you!!".
That's my Dude!

I'm still getting used to it.  I have to admit I miss his longer hair. Don't get me wrong I love it, obviously I'd love any hair style he rocks, it's just that now my almost two year old looks like a teenager!

Our Weekend

I'm pretty sure last week was my first time ever missing a week of blogging.  My OCD kicked in and I felt really anxious about it too but I was really busy getting ready for my Matron of Honor duties in Nashville!   With out gushing too much over all the fun we had and how much I love my best friend I wanted to share a few details of the wedding.  The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all took place at the most beautiful venue called Cellar One right downtown Nashville.  The ceremony was held in an open outside courtyard right across from the river.  It was the most beautiful rustic chic wedding I have ever been to.  You could just feel the love all weekend long.  And of course the bride and groom looked phenomenal!

Love you to the moon, Rachael!

Now on to Mr. Charles Beau.  We are getting pumped up for Halloween!  And when I say we I mean me:)  We have been reading some fun Halloween books, got some new Halloween jams and busted out some Halloween goodies last week!

Even though he grew his own pumpkins this year in his grandparents garden I still want to take him to a pumpkin patch so he can try my favorite, warm apple cider for the first time and take his first hay ride!! We also got his Halloween costume last week and rest assured I believe it is just as cute as last years!  I don't think I'm actually going to take him Trick-or-Treating though.  I'm leaning towards just passing out candy like we did last year.  I have a feeling this will be the last year that I get to pick out his costume.  Soon enough he will have his own opinion on the matter but I'm pretty happy with my choices these last two years.  I have a feeling it will be all super hero's and Disney characters from here on out.
