For all my fellow Mamarazzi's

I've always enjoyed taking pictures but when Charlie came along every little thing he did was magic, I just had to capture it all.  I've had so many people ask about my photos, what type of camera I use and how I get the boys to cooperate while taking their picture.  A few years ago Ben got me a nice point and shoot camera that I use often but I still use my iphone the most.  I don't put any pressure on the boys to smile or pose a certain way when I take pictures because I love candids and the true rawness they bring.   In my opinion, it's not about the quality of the picture it's about the memories captured.   Just yesterday I took a photo of the boys as they were heading into my moms house.  Both their eyes are closed but I love it because they are holding hands, something I didn't ask them to do.  Every time I see this photo I won't notice that their eyes are closed or that Brad is in desperate need of a haircut.  I'll just remember that sweet moment when Charlie grabbed Brad's hand in anticipation of helping him up the steps.  For me, that's a perfect picture.

I'm sharing today the five pictures I try to take each month to document my growing babes and I've also rounded up some of my favorite camera themed goodies for all my fellow Mamarazzi's!  Enjoy!

1. Portrait:  This up close and personal picture is the perfect way to see all the ways your babe changes from month to month.
2. Siblings:  It's no secret I love dressing my boys in matching outfits and taking pictures of them.  I only have a short window that I can do this before someone starts not wanting to so I plan on taking full advantage of it while I can!
3. Playtime:  It's always fun to look back and see what your kids were into at certain ages.  Capturing pictures of them with a favorite toy or costume is a great way to do just that.
4. Bathtime:  Since my boys love bath time this shot is always my favorite to capture!  My camera is full of bath time fun!
5. Sleeping:  There is nothing more precious and peaceful than a sleeping baby.  This is also the best time to get closeups of little baby toes or little lips.  Things that are usually hard to get when baby is awake and wiggly.

How cute is that Posing for the Mamarazzi onsie?  And my favorite is the LookieLookie photo companion.  It makes taking pictures of your baby easy and fun!  I also love the My Mom Snaps book which I know I've mentioned a few times but it explains in a fun, colorful and endearing way why Mom is always snapping pictures:  to capture and document memories she never wants to forget!
I hope you all found some fun Mamarazzi inspiration, now go get snapping!

19 Weeks Bumpdate

I'm late starting my bumpdates.  I wanted to start at 15 weeks but that put me right at the hectic holiday season when I was last minute shopping and fighting off that nasty virus everyone in our family caught.  Then I had planned to share an 18 week bumpdate last week but I was so sick and then both boys ended up getting sick again.  This has been our worst winter as far as sicknesses go. We are all healthy now so I hope we can make it to spring!

Alas, here we are, 19 weeks and countin' with baby bump a showin'.
Big thank you to Batzkids for helping me document my growing bump!  They have the cutest milestone blankets for documenting pregnancy, monthly baby photos, 1st holidays and more!  I can't wait for our littlest to arrive so we can start using our monthly blanket.  These would make the most perfect baby shower gift too!

How far along?  19 weeks 5 days (2 days away from halfway!)

Total weight gain/loss?  13lbs.

Maternity clothes? Yes.  I'm mixing maternity and regular clothes right now.  I live in leggings though and I just bought a few maternity dresses (here here and here) for spring.

Stretch marks?  No

Sleep? Sleep could be better. We are ordering a new bed next week so maybe that will help.

Best moment this week? Feeling the baby kick!  This, in my opinion, is THE BEST part of pregnancy.

Miss Anything? The 3 M's.  Margaritas, Martinis and Moscow Mules!

Movement? Yes.

Food cravings? Red peppers and sweet tarts

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Hot showers.  Doctor says I have low blood pressure right now which is normal for this stage of pregnancy but it makes me feel light headed and a bit nauseous when I'm in a hot shower for too long.

Have you started to show yet? Yes

Gender? It's a bouncing(literally) baby boy!

Labor Signs? No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood? Feeling extra anxious this week as we are making a ton of last minute decisions on house stuff.  I keep changing my mind on things that I had okay'd months ago and now that it's all coming together I want to change it.  I have the daunting task of packing weighing on my mind too.  I haven't even started yet but in the spirit of my new years resolution, I did donate about 100 articles of clothing this week.  I have more to give but it does feel good to free up some closet and drawer space.

Looking forward to?  My doctors appointment tomorrow.  I can't wait to hear that little heart beat♡

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had the best holiday season!  We past around a nasty flu bug on Christmas and didn't really start feeling better until new years eve but we decided to cancel our NYE plans anyways because we just weren't up for partying.  Luckily, the boys didn't start feeling sick until the end of the day on Christmas day (Ben got the worst of it a few days before Christmas, he was definitely the host!) so they got to enjoy x-mas eve and x-mas day without flu symptoms.  Santa came through in the clutch and brought Charlie a Hatchimal so his Christmas was made.  I got to see my brother who was in town for the holidays which is always a fun time but the rest of our holiday was pretty laid back.  I got to binge watch several episodes of The O.C. and finished the first season of Divorce AND I joined a friends Bachelor Fantasy League which I'm so pumped about!

What's everyone's resolution this year?  This sounds a bit ostentatious when I say it out loud but my new years resolution is to completely reinvent myself, mind, body and soul and I'm starting by purging all my belongings.  When we move into our new house in a few short weeks I'm bringing only my bare necessities.  I'm donating all my clothes and shoes that I've had for the past 10+ years and only bringing a few staples (plus my maternity clothes) that I can start building a fresh new wardrobe from.  I still have all my bridal shower and wedding gifts in storage. I've never used or opened any of it so I plan to donate all my dinnerware, cups, utensils, cookware, bath toiletries and towels so that I can bring over only my new stuff.  I cannot wait to unpack my gifts because it's been 5 years since I've seen it all!  It will feel so refreshing to open brand new home goods in my brand new home!  I also want to cut my hair (not too short but enough to donate). I've been doing the same thing to my hair for the past 10 years and in the words of the great Coco Chanel "A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life."  I've put together an inspiration board for the new year complete with some self help books I can't wait to read!
Cheers to the new year!
