Easter Goodies

March has seriously flown by in the blink of an eye!  In the spirit of April's arrival this weekend I've rounded up some Easter goodies that will make their way into the boys baskets this year.  Honestly though, what is life without the dollar section at Target?  This is where I get 90% of everything holiday related but I always like to share my favorite non-candy ideas because these are so much harder to think of.  The boys are really into Ninja Turtles and Angry Birds right now so I found some fun related toys to add and I'm so obsessed with these "The Man" tees that are on sale right now.  I got Brad the camo (which also glows in the dark) and Charlie the red one.

What are some of your favorite Easter traditions to do with the kids?  This year I want to plant magic jelly beans.  How fun (and easy) is that!?  I also can't wait to hide baskets and make bunny pancakes Easter morning.  I'm really just so excited to celebrate and make memories of our first holiday in our new home!
And because he is the cutest bunny I've ever seen, here's a throw back to baby Brad last year:)

Our Favorite Smoothies

Even though it doesn't feel like it now, warmer weather and even summer are right around the corner!  For us that means a lot more cold refreshing smoothies.  We typically have smoothies at least once or twice a week as a snack or even as a meal when mama doesn't feel like cooking, but when summertime rolls around we turn into smoothie monsters.  I put together our top three smoothie recipes not including this one that I shared with you a few years ago where I explained that "I just throw hand fulls of shit in it until it looks or tastes the way I want."  Which is actually still pretty accurate.

Our Tried and True Smoothie-
This is the one we make most because it's well, the easiest.
1 cup of milk/almond milk
1 banana
1/3 cup of blueberries
1/2 cup of Dole frozen mixed fruit (which contains strawberries, pineapples, mangos and peaches)

Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie
Tastes amazing!
1 cup of milk/almond milk or soy
1 banana
1/2 cup of frozen strawberries
1/2 cup of rolled oats
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp. sugar

Vitamin C Smoothie-
A great immune booster!
1 cup of Orange Juice
2 oz. orange or peach greek yogurt
1 1/3 cups of Dole frozen mixed fruit

Signing off early for the weekend and after reading this article I've decided to deactivate FB and limit my time on all social media.  The article is so true and is actually very scary if you think about it.  Since I want to set an example for the boys (they don't have their own devices or get much "screen time") I don't want them watching me with my phone glued to my face either!

Happy Spring, Friends!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day and Happy Friday!  I know I've said this before but my how different this holiday is for me.  I've traded in kegs and eggs, green beer and a drunken day downtown for shamrock pancakes, green smoothies and a day full of St. Patrick's crafts with my boys and I wouldn't have it any other way!  Today I'm off to a bump appointment to take my glucose test/blood draw, the hospital for my Rhogam shot (since I'm Rh negative) and a another blood draw. Then I'm meeting up with Ben for Rubens. Yum!  I can't believe this weekend marks the start of my third trimester.  This pregnancy is starting to fly by now and I'm almost into single digit weeks until little brother is earth side. Aaa! Hope we can pick a name before he arrives, we'll just call him Saint Patrick till then:)  Happy all green everything, friends!

Hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend! XO
