Memorial Day Treats

It's so hard getting back into the swing of things after a long weekend.  We spent most of our time outside enjoying the beautiful weather!  We also made some festive treats using our silicone star molds.  Our fruit ice cubes were super easy.  Just fill them with your favorite fruit and water (or juice) and freeze!
Also, all the star eyes for these Hanna Andersson pj's!

We also made some fun patriotic granola + yogurt stars.  Equally as easy.  Here's how.

Vanilla Yogurt
Food coloring
Festive Sprinkles or frosting
Wilton Star mold

My measurements are based on the ability to make six stars. Use approximately 1/2 cup of granola mixed with 1Tbs. of vanilla yogurt. This will help bind the granola together. Take about a teaspoon of the granola mixture and press it into the bottom of the stars. Then spoon in the vanilla yogurt (half with food coloring and half without) overtop until the stars are full. Use a toothpick to swirl the two colors of yogurt together then give the pan a little giggle to help it settle. Put them in the freezer for at least two hours.  Once they are frozen pop them out, add your sprinkles or frosting and enjoy!  They would be perfect for the 4th of July too!
These stars are a real crowd pleaser.

Happy Memorial Day.  Here's to the men and women who died for our country.  We remember you, we honor you and we are forever grateful for your sacrifice.
